THE BOOK
Bram Stoker's Dracula
In 1897, Irish author Bram Stoker introduced the world to Count Dracula. A reclusive nobleman with supernatural secrets, Dracula became a blueprint for vampiric representations. Themes of a foreign Other, sexual connotations of vampirism, the persona which Dracula maintains, and much more can be attributed, at least in some way, to this influential novel.

From numerous film adaptations, to theatrical versions, to subsequent additions to the canon of vampire literature, Dracula's influence is as large as the Count is old. This influence also extends significantly into the world of music.
